Coldstream Pipe Band hails from Coldstream in the Scottish Borders and was formed in 1931. We are very much a town band; all of the players either live in or are connected by birth or work to Coldstream and new members are always welcomed. The band is led by Pipe Major Rob Bell. We play throughout Scotland and Northumbria and over the past few years we have played in Galicia, the Basque country, France and Belgium. We are happy to be contacted for engagements large and small. The band prides itself on the role it plays within the town and that although from a small population of 1,700 we have been in existence for over seventy years. The band provides a good learning environment for young players and a safe and reliable interest for many young people looking for something with which to fill their time. Many players have gone on from Coldstream to compete at the highest levels and others have left with a confidence that can only be gained by learning an instrument and performing as a team. Above all else, the emphasis is always on having fun. You can find out more about the band from this site, by contacting Pipe Major Rob Bell (Rob@coldstreampipeband.co.uk or by phone on 01890 88 2211), Neil Moffat (Neil@coldstreampipeband.co.uk) or John Lauder (John@coldstreampipeband.co.uk) The band meets every Monday in Coldstream Primary School at 7.00pm. |
